    Arrival and Relaxation

Land on the Atlantic edge of Europe and let the hills of Sintra take the travel out of you — light lunch, slow evening, early rest.

    DAY1

Arrival in Lisbon. Private transfer to the resort.

  2. MAY 26, 2026

    Gentle Lisbon Introduction

Meet Lisbon the way the city prefers to be met: uphill, unhurried, and singing by nightfall.

    DAY2

Alfama, viewpoints, pastry stop, fado evening.

  3. MAY 27, 2026

    Belém Heritage Day

Walk the riverbank where the caravels left, and finish with the custard tart the whole world tried to copy.

    DAY 3

Jerónimos area, riverside walk, pastéis de nata, optional MAAT.

  4. MAY 28, 2026

    Sintra Anchor Day

Climb into the mist for a palace painted like a fairy tale, then descend a spiral well into someone else's dream.

    DAY 4

Pena Palace, Sintra village lunch, Quinta da Regaleira.

  5. MAY 29, 2026

    A True Resort Day

One day given entirely to doing nothing well — the day that keeps the trip from becoming a race.

    DAY 5

Spa, pool, gardens, elegant dinner on property.

  6. MAY 30, 2026

    Cascais and the Atlantic Coast

Follow the coast to a fishing town turned royal retreat, and stand where the continent runs out of land.

    DAY 6

Old town, promenade, seafood lunch, optional Cabo da Roca.

  7. MAY 31, 2026

    Lisbon Views and Castle Day

Take the high ground of the city, then wander down through Lisbon's most elegant streets as the light turns gold.

    DAY 7

Castelo de São Jorge, Baixa or Chiado, sunset drinks.

  8. JUNE 1, 2026

    Contemporary Culture Day

Trade tiles and towers for glass and water — the Lisbon that looks forward instead of back.

    DAY 8

MAAT or Oceanário and Parque das Nações.

  9. JUNE 2, 2026

    Hands in the Culture

Stop watching Portugal and start making it, one blue tile or one pan of clams at a time.

    DAY 9

Cooking class, azulejo workshop, or wine-led experience.

  10. JUNE 3, 2026

    The Second Sintra Layer

Return to Sintra for the quieter palace the crowds skip, then let the afternoon dissolve back at the resort.

    DAY 10

Monserrate or National Palace of Sintra, then resort downtime.

  11. JUNE 4, 2026

    Final Romantic Lisbon Day

Spend the last full day the way Lisbon does — slowly, with coffee, and ending on the water.

    DAY 11

Shopping, café time, sunset sail on the Tagus.

  12. JUNE 5, 2026

    Até Já

Carry home the tiles, the fado, and the salt air, until Portugal calls you back.

    DAY 12

Private transfer to the airport and departure.

Culinary Immersion

A taste of Portugal, told through its coast and its custard.

Portuguese cooking is a conversation between the Atlantic and the hillside — shaped by fishing boat, convent kitchen, and vineyard terrace. From a pastél de nata pulled hot from a Belém oven to grilled seafood on a Cascais quay and a fado dinner in Alfama, every plate carries salt, patience, and a country's long memory of the sea.

How to Keep This Version on Budget

  • 1. Book airfare first or track it early. Flights are the most volatile line item in this version.
  • 2. Hold Penha Longa only if the nightly rate fits the target room budget. If not, pivot fast to Sheraton Cascais Resort.
  • 3. Use private guides for Sintra and one Lisbon day, then keep several days self-paced with pre-booked transfers only.
  • 4. Choose one standout fado dinner, one excellent seafood meal, and one celebratory final dinner rather than upgrading every night.
  • 5. Keep one full resort day. It adds value to the hotel spend and prevents the trip from feeling overprogrammed.

Planning note

  • This revised structure protects what makes the trip special: a romantic resort base, culturally rich Lisbon and Sintra experiences, and enough breathing room for the couple to actually enjoy the destination instead of racing through it.
  • Note: all estimates are dynamic and should be rechecked at the time of booking, especially airfare and hotel rates.
  • Source basis used for this revision: current airfare and hotel pricing snapshots plus official attraction and property information as reviewed in April 2026.
